As an Electrical Inspector setting up power reticulation on construction sites, I saw the need for a user friendly powerbox to have as many 3pin 10 Amp outlets as possible without increasing the size of the box too much.
Details:
- Interlinking portable power boxes is very important - every box has IEC outlets to connect 2 more boxes to the first power box. (Example: top of stairs leading to a floor - as you can connect two more boxes, you can then go left and right).
- Special 16 Amp outlet plug for lighting to separate it from the main RCD. This means that the lights stay on when the main RCD trips (for example if someone has an electrical fault on the main RCD).
- MCB as the main switch. If the portable powerbox is overloaded then the MCB will trip.
- One 63 Amp RCCB, which protects 18 x10 Amp outlets.
- One 32 Amp outlet for 3 phase with 32 Amp MCB.
- IP ratings 66/67.
